Nursery Accent Wall
This nursery accent wall was such a fun and easy project to do! And definitely a favorite since my daughter helped out as well. It was the cutest thing watching her walk in and say ‘Wow!’ every-time I made progress on her nursery accent wall.

How I built this Nursery Accent Wall
I started with this beautiful wallpaper and made sure that it was level with my awesome laser leveler. This laser leveler is a life saver for accent walls (especially when I added board and batten on my ceiling for my master bedroom Accent Wall).
What Boards do I use?
Next I added the boards! My go-to boards are always Pre-Primed MDF (except for bathrooms!) I went into a whole blog post about why I choose Pre-Primed MDF Boards for my accent wall HERE. Feel free to read up on that later for some awesome board and batten tips.
Next I used PVC trim for the first time ever and I’m in LOVE!! Can you tell the difference between the above photo and this one below? Maybe it’s too far away to tell, but I love how the trim really adds a finished and more elegant look to it.
Tools & Tricks
I used inside corner PVC trim from Home Depot and easily cut them with these miter shears. I have heard some mixed reviews on this. But I have only used these for this accent wall and they cut so easily with the PVC trim! Sofar, I’m impressed.
One thing I wish I had was a pin nailer. This would be PERFECT for trim work. I love using my Brad Nailer for putting up my MDF boards, however I did notice that the Brad nails may have left a bit too big hole for the trim, so I would recommend utilizing this pin nailer instead.
Once I covered all the nail holes with wood filler and caulked seams, it was ready to paint! (Feel free to watch the YouTube videos below explaining an in-depth video walk through of these instructions).
This was actually my second color I bought, and I’m actually really happy that I decided to go with this darker color. I went with ‘Eucalyptus Wreath’ by Behr and now I’m so tempted to paint my daughters whole room this color. It’s definitely a favorite now.
With this being my second accent wall, I 100% stand by what I’ve said before, if you are a beginner to DIY, an accent wall should be your first project. Especially if you have a baby on the way, then a nursery accent wall would be the best first project. It gets you familiar with tools and helps you be confident in future projects. You’ve got this! 💪🏻
